Foliar functional traits from imaging spectroscopy across biomes in eastern North America
Leaf traits met UAV spectral. Leaf PLS model provided a number of leaf sampling dataset within a plot. Integrating to UAV spectral, plot level trait model was established. It contributes to better forestry management. As spectrum is highly affected by canopy structure, actually the model includes both of spectral feature and canopy structural pseudo correlation. Interestingly, vector normalized spectral enhanced the model performance. It implies that spectral feature reveals itself, although the dynamic happens at molecule scale. Also it has higher influence on foliar traits remote sensing than canopy structure.
